OMM is a hands-on treatment method used by osteopathic physicians (DOs) to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness or injury. It involves using various osteopathic techniques that involve stretching, gentle pressure and resistance to improve the body's function. OMM is a safe and  non-invasive treatment option with minimal risk when performed by a trained professional.

Primary Care Sports Medicine is a field of medicine that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports / activity-related injuries and conditions. It also involves performance enhancement and fitness advice. 

Basically anyone looking to optimize their current health level or situation can benefit by seeing a primary care sports medicine physician.

Regenerative Medicine focuses on repairing or replacing damaged tissues using techniques such as Stem cell therapy, Platelet Rich Plasma, Prolotherapy, and Focused Shockwave Therapy. It aims to enhance the body's natural healing processes. Orthobiologics is a specific branch of regenerative medicine that focuses on the Musculoskeletal system.

Orthobiologic treatments can be used to treat conditions such as Osteoarthritis, tendon and ligament injuries, chronic pain, and cartilage damage.  They are often used when traditional methods have not been effective.

We treat a variety of conditions including Musculoskeletal pain, sports injuries, chronic pain, arthritis, tendonitis, and more. We also focus on  preventive care and performance optimization for athletes as well as the general population (newborns to older adults).

Initial visits are about 60 minutes depending on the time you arrive to the office. 5 minutes for vital signs and the initial history, the rest is physician face time minus any patient tardiness or delay as a result of filling out new patient paperwork. 

In order to get the most from your vist, please arrive 20 to 30 minutes early in order to fill out paperwork or save time by filling out the new patient paperwork ahead of time. 

Follow up visits range from 15 to 45 minutes.

Our practice does run on time unless there has been an emergency earlier in the day.

Please bring a valid ID, the new patient paperwork,  a list of any medications you are currently taking, and any relevant medical records or imaging studies.  

Should you choose to fill out your paperwork in the office the day of the initial visit, please arrive 20 to 30 minutes early to enable completion of the forms prior to being taken back for your visit.

No, you do not need a referral to make an appointment or to be seen as a patient. We are a cash-based practice and do not require a referral to establish as a patient.

Being a cash-based practice means we do not bill or contract with insurance companies.  We are out of network for all insurances.  Patients pay for services at the time of the visit.  We can provide documentation for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursment.

Why does your practice not take insurance? Our practice has chosen not to accept insurance for several important reasons:

4. Transparent Pricing: Our cash-based model allows for transparent and straightforward pricing. You will know the costs upfront, with no hidden fees or unexpected bills from insurance companies.

5. Innovative Treatments: Insurance companies often have strict guidelines and limitations on the types of treatments they cover. By not accepting insurance, we have the flexibility to offer the latest and most effective treatments, including advanced regenerative medicine therapies, without being restricted by insurance policies.

6. Cost-Effective: For many patients, the cost of high-deductible insurance plans combined with co-pays can be more expensive than paying directly for services. Our competitive pricing ensures you receive excellent value for your healthcare investment.

Yes, we require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee.

Our fees vary depending on the type and length of the service provided.  Please click the Fee schedule link above for a current detailed fee schedule.

While we no not bill insurance directly, we can provide you with a detailed invoice that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so please check with your insurance provider.  

If you are a Medicare/ Medicaid insuree you will be unable to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.  Dr. Laboy has opted out of Medicare / Medicaid.  

In order to be seen at New Mexico Osteopathic Medicine you will need to sign a private contract with New Mexico Osteopathic Medicine which states that you acknowlege that Dr. Laboy has opted out of Medicare / Medicaid and you will not submit the claim to Medicare / Medicaid.
